During my time as a designer at Luminess, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Conture brand product design and development team on two innovative products: the Kinetic Smooth and the AeroCleanse device. My role focused on visual development, 3D modeling, and rapid prototyping, working alongside internal engineering and marketing teams.
-
Kinetic Smooth: A multi-functional device combining hair removal, skin polishing, and more. It features a dual-blade rotary system operating at 50,000 pulses per minute for close, comfortable hair removal, and a mineral-based polishing head for gentle exfoliation.
-
AeroCleanse: A facial cleansing brush utilizing sonic vibrations and airflow technology to enhance lather and effectively remove makeup, dirt, and oil. Its ergonomic design and oval brush head cater to all facial contours, making it suitable for sensitive skin.

I worked under the product development team, taking direction from the CEO and VP of marketing.
My focus was on translating rough concepts into precise 3D models, collaborating closely with the engineer to conceptualize the devices.
Both products adhere to the brand identity by maintaining a minimalistic core design and incorporating signature elements like the curve/wave.
For the AeroCleanse this feature also enhances proper grip.
I created 3D models and in-house 3D prints, working through rounds of feedback with engineering to refine mechanical fit and details. A standout feature of the products was their modular design, allowing for various interchangeable heads to be used with a single, consistent body.

This multi-use functionality enabled a range of results, from skin smoothing to deep cleansing. My focus during modeling was on maintaining alignment, grip, and visual consistency across all interchangeable heads.
The 3D models helped us quickly prototype fit and interaction in-house, and later supported the creation of instructional visuals showing users how to switch heads and clean the devices.

As we neared final development, I supported packaging studies by reviewing in-house prototypes and exploring how to reflect Conture’s brand identity while helping users store and organize the devices and attachments.
In parallel, I created high-fidelity product renders, instructional diagrams, and explainer videos. These were used across the website, email campaigns, and print materials to demonstrate how to swap heads and clean each device. The goal was to create a clear, accessible experience, especially for first-time users.
This project gave me hands-on experience across the full design chain: from early concepting and 3D modeling to prototyping, packaging, and launch visuals. Both the Kinetic Smooth and AeroCleanse were successfully released to market, showing a collaborative, detail-driven process that met the brand standards and resonated with consumers.
